Clinical Interventionist

Every 52 minutes, someone dies from their eating disorder.

While it may be in bad taste to introduce you to my website with this statistic, it is, unfortunately, the reality of the situation. I use it on my business card for a reason. To grab your attention. The entire reason I do this work is to prevent another death from these insidious disorders.

I hope you will find this site useful to see what services I can provide, read my posts, and utilize the resource section to navigate all things related to Eating Disorder Counseling and Education.

Eating Disorders are my passion. I'm happy to connect with you personally: whether you are a person struggling, a student, clinician, or the loved one of someone struggling with an eating disorder.

I’m here to provide insight and education based on my years of clinical experience and intensive training both specifically with eating disorders and within counselor education and supervision.

Intervention Services:

  • Interventions are utilized to help educate and prepare families to support a loved one into treatment for their eating disorder and/or substance use. An experienced professional (the interventionist) is helpful to guide the family and provide a framework for the loved one to understand their need to enter a higher level of care. I have been trained by Jeff and Debra Jay, the authors of Love First: A Family’s Guide to Intervention. There are very few Clinical Interventionists who have in-depth experience and understanding of the unique challenges faced when intervening with someone who has an eating disorder. As the former Program Director for two highly sought after inpatient treatment programs for eating disorders, I have years of experience helping families get their loved ones the treatment they deserve.
