Hi y’all, I’m Eleanor. I am a born and raised New Orleanian who specializes in treatment, education, and advocacy for eating disorders. I have a plethora of experience working in the acute care setting (inpatient and partial hospitalization) as a therapist and former Program Director for two eating disorder treatment facilities. I have worked in all levels of mental health care which includes: inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive-outpatient, and outpatient levels of care.

This is my passion. I could stand on a soapbox daily (if time allowed) shouting from the rooftops to explain how important it is to work with a facility or clinician that has TRAINING and SUPERVISED EXPERIENCE working with eating disorders. You wouldn’t go to cardiologist for your foot or a podiatrist for your heart - so why would eating disorders be any different? Specialists in their field go through extensive supervised field work and, typically, a number of years with a supervisor or mentor to become an expert. This is what I have dedicated my entire life to pursue specifically with eating disorders.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Supervisor in both Louisiana and Virginia. I am a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist-Consultant as designated by the International Association for Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). I am a proud graduate of the Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at The University of New Orleans (UNO). I am completing my Ph.D. at UNO where my dissertation is focused on the training of counselors to work with eating disorders. I have over 7+ years of training as a clinical supervisor (yes, training on how to supervise) and enjoy that work immensely.

I cannot say it enough (though it might sound odd to the outsider) but I absolutely LOVE my work with eating disorders. I know you will genuinely feel that from me in our work together.
